US West Newvector/Airtouch Cellular, Bellevue, WA 3/91 - Present

Cellular switch and cellsite preventative/corrective maintenance which includes: Northern Telecom and Motorola analog switches, Motorola CDMA, UNIX based VME computers for IS41 and SwitchMATE, DS1 and DS3 BERT equipment, T1 DACS, DS3 MUXes, alarm systems, generators, antennas, microwave, 24 volt and -48 volt power systems, and tower lighting. I have been involved in one NTI system split, one Motorola system split, and three complete cellular system changeouts. Maintain Motorola EMX2500 and associated adjunct equipment and provide Operational Measurements to co-workers via UNIX cron executed scripts. Built and maintained NT server for Field Operations for centralized file storage and Intranet web site.

Currently maintain and support software upgrades to 13 Motorola EMX2500 cellular switches and the associated adjunct equipment as well as provide 24 X 7 callout support for 13 Motorola EMX2500 switches. Access control and administration for NT Server. Provide support for 12 Motorola SwitchMATE. Write UNIX scripts to automate many of the daily preventative and corrective maintenance procedures.

US West Newvector/Airtouch Cellular, Seattle, WA 8/88 - 3/91

Cellular phone programming, troubleshooting installations and phones on the bench, maintain FCC specifications on all equipment, installations, order and receive parts, maintain inventory, repair all makes and models of cellular phones, and act as part of a small but effective team that interfaces with customers as well as salespeople.

Pacific Electronics, Olympia, WA 7/87 - 8/88

Programming and installation of two-way radios as well as cellular phones, bench, field, and mountain top repairs, install base equipment from power supply to antenna, including the construction of antenna towers, maintain FCC specifications on all equipment.

Summary:

I have a very solid background in cellular switching, UNIX and Intel based computers, and RF technology. If there is anything I have learned in the past 12 years it is to never stop learning and troubleshooting skills are far more important than any other knowledge or skills required to survive anywhere in the electronics industry. I have not only a desire but also a knack for learning and becoming the resident expert on the equipment that co-workers deem "difficult" to work on and/or understand.
